BEEF RAGU AT STROBRIE ABUJA

Strobrie is a bakery/cafe best known for its handcrafted artisan pastries in Abuja. It’s filled with so many green plants and handcrafted pots and tables giving it a garden look.
As you step your foot into the cafe, you are greeted with calm music and green plants strategically placed in different areas. Every table has a plant pot on it, there’s an aquarium on one side of the cafe, with a bookshelf possibly to keep one busy before their food is served. At one corner of the cafe has a standing fridge with freshly made pastries organized in it. The sitting arrangement is very spacious, and if you’re more of an outdoor person, there is an outdoor space too.

The menu offers a variety of delicious food and sweet pastries. From the cheesecake to the carrot cake, to scones, to English breakfast, burgers, and even down to the beef ragu, there’s something for everyone to choose from. I like to boast that I’ve tried almost all their cakes lol.
On this day, Vallerie, Fola, and I had a collaboration here and we had the following:
Beef Ragu -N3,200

Fettuccine pasta was used with beef ragu for this dish. It looked delicious, tasted okay too. Unfortunately, the tomato sauce had a sour taste to it that didn’t sit well with us. The beef was well seasoned and properly cooked so it stole the show. It was the highlight of our meal.
Suya Yakitori Chicken -N2,500

This dish was made up of chicken thighs, sumo fries, and Jollof mayo.
The sumo fries were perfect! Sadly the chicken wasn’t as expected. Tasted okay, but a little more seasoning and it would have been perfect. I didn’t try the Jollof mayo though.
Chicken Salad -N2,800

This salad was made up of chicken breast, lettuce, croutons, and served with Strobrie’s homemade mustard dressing.
If you don’t want your salad served whole, you can ask for the lettuce and chicken breast to be shredded.
Fresh orange juice -N800
If you want your juice as fresh as can be, then this is the spot for you.
Water -N200 per bottle.

Service – Amazing
The service here was just so amazing. As we sat down, someone was waiting to take our orders and guide us through the menu. And even when we had some complaints, she listened to us patiently. Our food didn’t take time to arrive, so the timing here was okay.
Ambiance – Beautiful

This cafe is a beautiful space. I loved the decor and how everything looked handcrafted, the plants gave the cafe a calm look. This is a place one goes to when tired of the noise of the city.

It was quite tricky getting here, as the road into the garden is currently under construction. You might have to call in to be given proper directions.
