… preferably Philly steak sandwiches!
Of every childhood memory I have, one particular one replays in my head all the time. My parents.
You see, my dad loved to cook as much as he loved to eat! And yes, he loved -still loves having everyone seated at the dining table to eat together.
Oh yes! The childhood memory…
My mom was pregnant with the twins (yes yes, I have twin sisters – 2 sets), and we were all seated at the dining table doing whatever we were doing while my dad was at the other end of the table making us sandwiches!

So my dad watches a lot of Food Network, and growing up, on days he took over the kitchen we were sure of something delicious! If he’s not adding red wine into a dish, he’s making something else with no name -of course, we’d do the honors of naming the dishes.
On this beautiful day, he made sandwiches while my mom fixed toothpicks on each sandwich to keep them in place. It was the most delicious sandwich ever!
I was about 7 years old when this happened, but it’s one memory that has stayed with me among other beautiful memories of course. This is part of what shaped my ideas of marriage and relationships as a whole. Of course, every beautiful picture has some imperfections to it, that’s what makes it beautiful.
I know what I want from a partner, and when I’m getting little to no effort, I know when to walk away.
When I’m treated right, loved right and appreciated -most importantly respected, I know to stay and keep being the sweet girl that I am ☺️.
Why?
It’s the sandwiches!
I will consider marriage when he makes me sandwiches… preferably a Philly steak sandwich!
