RETRO WORK-STYLE || A MODERN WOMAN’S GUIDE

Retro modern style

My personal style is best described as retro-modern, and this has turned me into a big time thrift shopper. When I’m not looking for restaurants or cool spots on Instagram, I’m definitely searching for thrift stores.
A retro-modern style simply is a fashion that blends vintage clothing with high-street clothing. Bold prints, high waist bottoms, and collared shirts are all part of what makes a modern look vintage inspired.
In this post I’d be sharing the retro work-style |a modern woman’s guide. Every woman has a few of theses outfits in their wardrobes:
  • REVERSE BUTTON-DOWN SHIRT ON PLEATED SKIRT ||

Pleated skirt

Nothing screams retro aka vintage like a pleated skirt. The reverse button-down style trended last year and I’ve preferred wearing my shirts that way.

The perfect vintage look for this outfit is tucking the shirt into the skirt.
  • KIMONO ON HALTER TOP ||

A kimono can be turned into a modern chic style in many different ways. In this case, I styled it with a halter top and a slim fit trouser. This outfit is a typical midweek office wear even though I wore it on a Monday.

  • VINTAGE WHITE SHIRT ||

Every vintage lover has at least 3-5 pairs of white shirt for starters lol.

I styled this with a slim fit trouser and flat shoes. I work in a corporate office so I’ve been investing in lots of slim fit trousers.
I look forward to sharing more retro modern styles with you my darlings.
