ZODARA BAR | Cocktails Meet Continental Contemporary Cuisine

Zodara Cocktail Bar in Abuja

Zodara, known as a cocktail bar in Abuja, re-branded in November 2021 and it’s not just a cocktail bar but a full-blown bar that also serves continental complimentary cuisine in Abuja.

You are greeted by a welcoming and charming ambiance when you walk into Zodara bar, not forgetting the friendly staff ever ready to serve you. This is one cool spot in the capital everyone stops by to unwind after a long day. And if you’re yet to stop by, this is your cue to do so!

On Sunday, I got to try out some varieties of mouth-watering dishes and it was a delightful experience. Zodara’s re-branding from a cocktail bar to a bar and restaurant that serves continental contemporary cuisine in Abuja was a big face-lift and that’s one major growth.

The outdoor area is my favorite part of Zodara, my second fave part is the bar and tiki wall face – so instagrammable and picture-perfect too. The bar is a nice spot for pre or post-dinner drinks with long stools and different drink selections.

I tried out the chicken wings roulette which had peppered wings, BBQ wings, lemon pepper wings, and crunchy fried wings in the platter, creamy chicken Cajun penne, Waldorf salad, grilled catfish, sliders, native jollof, and loaded fries with a variety of cocktails my favorite being the fish bowl cocktail.

In the roulette chicken platter, my all time fave was the peppered wing. It was well seasoned and so tender. The native jollof was another star of the show, properly cooked and seasoned with dryfish, snail, prawns, etc. I absolutely enjoyed this dish. The Waldorf salad had coconut shavings and walnuts in it which gave it a crunch and a boost in flavor which i liked.

Another fave dish was the chicken Cajun penne, with loads of chicken chunks and the right texture too. It was creamy but not overly creamy just how I enjoy it. The loaded fries would have made a great star of the show too, unfortunately, there was no cheese in it. I loved how well seasoned it was and the fries were not soggy too – if only the cheese had an appearance! But I’m sure that is something they’d look into.

Overall, I would recommend the cocktails here. I absolutely loved the aesthetics, atmosphere and experience at Zodara bar. It’s good to have them back!
